9th Street underpass at US 41 in Green Bay opens late Friday
(Green Bay) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing the 9th Street underpass at US 41 in Green Bay is scheduled to open to traffic by midnight on Friday, November 11. The street closed September 19 to allow crews to demolish and begin reconstruction of the northbound US 41 bridge over 9th Street.
While 9th Street is reopening, there is an 11-foot width restriction for traffic lanes in both directions. A temporary sidewalk on the north side of 9th Street is also opening for pedestrians. Drivers are reminded that construction continues in this area. Additional short-term closures are planned for 2012 when the southbound US 41 bridge over 9th Street is rebuilt.
All lane restrictions are weather dependent and subject to change.
